School trek to Karadi Kallu Betta

Image
It was a very hot day on April 3. We had to trek up a hill called Karadi Kallu Betta. Karadi Kallu Betta is in Ramanagara which is 70km away from Bangalore City. Here is some information about Karadi Kallu Betta, Karadi Kallu Betta is one of the least explored hills in Ramanagara. It has 3-4 caves at the top and also a beautiful lake. Kayaking, Zipline, and other adventure activities at the resort are the highlights of this trek. The trek was organized by Treknomads.   I woke up at 4 am and went to my school. It was so early in the morning. We then went on a nice white bus. It took us one and a half hours to reach Karadi Kallu Betta. It was a superb place and it looked beautiful. The lead instructor told us that it was called Base Camp. I was wondering “If the Base Camp is cool looking, how good will the trek be.”   So then we went on a trek on the hill(Karadi Kallu Betta) , where we climbed four hills. One tip for when you go there - make sure not to get hit by the cacti beca...

Lessons to learn from Neeraj Chopra

Image
When I wrote my first blog for my school, I said this line, “I hope the Olympics goes on smoothly and India can win many gold medals! Go India!” Well we did ! Did you think India would win an Olympic gold medal? Did you think it would be in athletics?  I certainly did not. And the person we have to thank for making this happen is Neeraj Chopra. So who is Neeraj Chopra? Neeraj Chopra is a javelin thrower in the men's category who is very good.Want to hear his inspiring story? Well, here it is! Neeraj Chopra was born on 24 December, 1997. He is the son of a farmer in Panipat village, Haryana. When he was 12 years, he weighed a lot - over 90 kg! His father was very concerned about his weight so he was taken to a sports academy. There he was bullied for his weight. One day, he picked a javelin and threw it and it went over 40 meters and the coach was impressed and started teaching him.Soon, he became an expert. Training and traveling to different tournaments was difficult but somehow ...

Should homework be banned?

Image
Homework is a vital part of a student’s life so I choose not to ban homework as it helps us revise our class topics. I know some people don’t like to do homework but I think doing homework helps us learn and become successful in life. The best way of doing homework is to take breaks between assignments like you do Science homework and then take a 2 hour break and do English it is as simple as that. So why is homework important? According to Education Week, an online survey of over 1,000 teachers, 500 parents, and 2,100 students conducted by MetLife,77 percent of students and more than 80 percent of teachers and parents say homework is important or very important. The study also reported that 75 percent of students stated they did at least 30 minutes, while 45 percent said they spend more than an hour on homework each regular school day. Homework does not need to be boring. You can make yourself a points chart and everyday when you complete your homework you earn stickers and if you com...

My 2021 birthday

Image
Thanks to the Covid 19 pandemic, my birthday had changed completely.I couldn’t go out and it was very hard. When I woke up, I forgot it was my birthday. Then I ran to the hall and the theme was CSK, my favorite IPL Team.  I had breakfast and then thanked everybody on the Whatsapp group before playing PlayStation and phone for the rest of the morning. In the afternoon, I took a bath, ate lunch and my aunt showed me a special birthday gift. Then I watched a movie. In the evening, I went out for a walk and we had a birthday party. I had a cake with the photo of my favourite cricketers from CSK.  There was a Kahoot Quiz about me which my aunt won. We ordered pizza and played with balloons.  Finally, in the night, we opened my gifts. I got a basketball, a dart game, a rocket making kit and a helicopter.  After that, I went to sleep.  I would like to thank my family for arranging this.Thank you!

Happy birthday Rabindranath Tagore

Image
Last year my school said to dress up as someone great. I did not know who to dress up as. Then I dressed up as Rabindranath Tagore. That time I did not know who he was but I learnt a lot about him. Since today is his birthday let me tell you what I learnt. Rabindranath Tagore was born on 7th May 1865. He Has composed the National Anthem of India and Bangladesh. He    was the first non-european to win a Nobel prize in literature and the 2nd non-european to win any Nobel prize. Despite his greatness, he had a sad childhood. His mother died early into his life and he was mostly raised by servants and was 1 of 13 surviving children. He has written many poems and many stories although I have not read all of them. I am sure they are interesting. One book I really love by him is Kabuliwala. It is a book about a little girl who is very friendly with a Kabuliwala. She thinks inside his sack are kidnapped children but then understands that he is nice.  I think every child sh...

Book review - The Cat Gang - Geronimo Stilton series

Image
Book review -  The Cat gang - Geronimo Stilton Author/Illustrator-Elisabetta  Dami The first reaction I had to the cover page was ‘the book is about bank robbery because in the cover there was a cat robbing a bank. I got this book from the Kahani Box library which delivered it in my April set. A team of 4 bank robbers and 1 cat robs banks in New Mouse city. Can Geronimo and his team stop the robbers and capture them or will the robbers rob all the banks in New Mouse city?Read the book to find out. The main character of the book is Geronimo Stilton. He hates traveling but loves playing golf and telling stories and is good at solving mysteries. I wonder why books like Geronimo Stilton don’t have a central meaning.I am saying this because I feel that the central meaning is important for our lives. The book was amazing it had easy to understand writing, very funny pictures, very funny story and it is hilarious. There is nothing I would change. It is one of the best stories I ev...

E-daycare - my business idea

Image
Now with the covid-19 pandemic, kids are sitting at home and their parents have to work from home.Who will take care of the child? I have a solution - e-daycare. E-Daycare is a way of bringing daycare to your house. It is like a normal daycare except it will be online.I will need zoom, breakout room, principal, teachers, students and nurse/doctor. So here is the e-daycare schedule : 8.45 am - Breakfast time 9:30 am -exercise 10:30 am -Normal Class 12 pm - Free time on camera  1:00 pm- lunch  1:45 pm-Sleep  4:00 pm- wake up  4:15 - Snack 5 pm - circle  6 pm- Reading time  7:30 pm - day care ends. The fee is-250 Rs half day and 500 Rs full day. 1 week 5000 rs, 1 month 15,000 rs and 1 year 100,000. E- daycare is a great idea because parents need to work from home and the child does not know how to be responsible.  Some difficulties are battery percentage, food and sleep. No one else had this idea because maybe all the difficulties make it very hard to do but I ...

Open letter to ICC

Image
What if Jasprit Bumrah opened the batting for India?  What if bowlers batted from positions 1 to 11?  What if batters bowl every over? What if there were no wicket keepers or all rounders? Let’s see how cricket will be.To make cricket more exciting than never before, I propose to you the first ever batters vs bowlers tour.   So here are the rules: No Wicket Keepers or All Rounders,15 player squads are must. There should be one warm up match, T20/List-A/Test or First class match. Players can be capped or uncapped and there should be a 2 year gap between tours.   There will be one warm up match before 2 test matches,3 List-A matches and 3 T20 matches. I would say this would make it more exciting. I would say batters will win but bowlers look good and might win. Some rivalries that might happen to be good are Bumrah vs Kohli, Anderson vs Kohli,De Villiers vs Starc, Babar Azam vs Pat cummins and Dhawan vs Y.Chahal.   I would say it is better for fans because it woul...

I love online school

Image
One year of online school and I miss going to school but actually I love online school.  When I first heard of online school I thought it would be from 8-3 like actual school and in lunch break also we will be sitting in front of camera eating from tiffin boxes! When ma’am told about breakfast club I did not want to attend because I thought again we will be eating food on video. Thank god it was not like that. I love BF club. It is so fun.  I love online school as I don’t have to find shade while playing. Now these days I am playing with my friends online.  Some fun moments that happened to me are one day I prepared to say something long in class and said it perfectly then all my friends started saying “You are on mute” then I had to say everything again. And always whenever ma’am said “I have an important announcement” my internet used to go bad.  My favourite day this year was back to school day. I loved meeting all my teachers like Joy ma’am, Divya ma’am, M...

My first blog

Image
IPL has started. Hope you are watching. Sorry ma’ams and friends for having to hear me talk about cricket throughout the year. Well, unfortunately this will be a cricket blog too! I will start writing more topics soon but since IPL has started I don’t think so. I am supporting CSK but I think MI will win this IPL because they have a really strong team with players like Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Surya Kumar De Kock, Pandya brothers, Bumrah ETC.  I miss morning meeting especially Joy ma’am (I don’t miss waking up early). Morning meeting was so fun and we got a chance to share our good things and thoughts. Thank you for reading.
